I'm surprised that there are no plain English versions of either on the FTP. 10.3 is on there, but in Swedish. I have a copy of 10.4, but it is a machine-specific version (Mac mini G4). If anyone has either of them (or both) that would be great.

It would also be really great if they could be uploaded to the FTP. I have 10.4, but my copy is currently locked away in storage (I was in the process of moving, but a LOT of my computer stuff is still in one of those PODS, or portable storage containers). Actually, 10.4 is already on the FTP. 10.3 is a Swedish one though, will see what I can add there (I think I got a 10.3.7 in the archives). The Swedish one is tagged as Swedish because it's a machine OEM one, but as all OSX discs it's a universal language disc. It's true the universal copies of Tiger and G3-G5 versions of Panther aren't there. There is an early DP of Leopard though, which is very reminiscent of Tiger, and an early build of Tiger. From there, it is technically possible to use Terminal and a combo update to make a hodge-podge version at your own risk. Much as I hate to say it, for what you're looking for (PPC version of Tiger and a copy of Panther), I would head to OS9Lives or Macintosh Garden instead, as they will probably carry the specific PowerPC media you're trying to find. Another option is eBay.

We got both on the FTP. Or are you looking for something very specific that you didn't specify in your original post? Both the x86 and PPC version of Tiger is on the FTP as well. Mrpippy, if you got any original retail discs in your collection then please scan and dump these for the FTP as we lack many main and updated versions of this, especially retail store copies. Didn't even know QEMU could do proper OSX emulation. How is the performance? The above URL has the link to the build I used.

It includes a few patches that makes it run most Mac OS/X stuff from 9.1-10.5. 7A179 is pretty tough to install, but I managed to install it by formatting its drive as UFS and specifying a few options in the command used to run QEMU. Once installed, the performance is decent (I use a 3.4GHz i7 here), but there's no sound. Interesting to see an emulator for Mac OS 9.1 and 10.0 since those were the most sought after for emulation since SheepShaver and PearPC can't emulate those, Does it emulate the OS X Developer Previews too? DP2, DP3 and the Public Beta builds 1H39 and 2E14 work.

DP1 does not even initiate the boot process as it has very specific hardware requirements. (Basically, anything other than the beige Power Mac G3 and the earliest B&W Power Mac G3's means that you're outta luck.) DP4 encounters an 'still waiting for root device' loop IIRC, but I will test it again just to confirm. Also, all versions that boot exhibit a graphical bug where the happy mac appears corrupted.

Hmm, it would that DP1 should install on most G3's from late 1997 to mid 1999 just fine, despite what Apple claims. Even so, it checks for something that QEMU doesn't have/provide, and therefore errors out at boot. I did have to go to the special menu to override the unsupported error that the installer gives. I might try it on my Summer 2001 iMac G3, but I don't think it would work since it was made several years after. I would imagine that any sort of G4 is out of the question. EDIT: Here's a screenshot:.
