Pepakura Files, free and for sale. As a result I spent a lot of time working on 3D modelling and Pepakura unfolding and have now gotten to the point where I am.

Because DeviantArt refuses to be convenient.EDIT. FINISHED UNFOLDING THE ENTIRE SUIT!!!

AND FIGURED OUT THE SCALE, TOO! The default size of this template is best suited to cosplayers who are 5ft 7in tall. However, though, I've also added a 'key' to help accurately re-size it yourself if you need to. Thrown together via request. So far only the helmet is properly organized on the print layout, but the entire suit of armor IS there. You'll just have to arrange everything yourself if you want the rest of it before I can get around to polishing this off all spiffy.

Ven's armor was actually 6th down my 'To-Papercraft' list, but whatever. Quick and half-hat often actually IS better than a-year-later-and-perfect.

This is Ventus' gameplay model from 'Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep'. Default size is 6ft 3in (190cm) tall from shoe bottoms to horn tips. I have not yet calculated what that translates to in terms of wearer-height, but I'm sure you'll manage. INTERESTED IN TURNING YOUR PAPERCRAFT ARMORS INTO MIND-BLOWING-LY REALISTIC COSPLAYS? Well then welcome to papercraft! To open.pdf files, you can use Adobe Reader, but I prefer. I like.pdf files for being the easiest to use. To open.pdo files (most useful for their 3D preview) you need, which is free.

SOMETIMES you can open.pdo files with Pepakura Designer, but certain ones that have been 'locked' by their authors will crash Designer. (People have written me thinking that the.pdo was glitched.) This Ventus armor is NOT locked, so if you can, and need to, you WILL be able to open and edit it in Designer. Useful for changing the finished model size, but confusing as all heck if you're new to papercraft or even 3D in general. US-Letter or 8.5 x 11 inch (21.5cm x 28cm) paper is what all my papercrafts use.

A little help with changing the proportions to fit to you: Since the answer isn't too clear in the tutorial, the best solution I could come up with is to take the ratio of the total height of the default suit, which is 190.5 cm, and the height of the person proportionate to that, which is 170.1 cm. Then get YOUR height in cm, which is my case is 180.4cm and figure out the ratio with the two other given variables. EX: (default suit total height) 190.5cm (6'3'): (default person's height) 170.1cm (5'7') = (total height proportionate to you) X cm (X'X'): (my your height) 180.4cm (5'11').

Simpler ratio - 190.5cm: 170.1cm = X cm: (your height in cm) Once you figure out the total height of YOUR model, the X variable, SUBTRACT the total height of the ORIGINAL model from that to find the difference between both models in cm. Ex: 202.03cm (new model total height) - 190.5cm (o.g.

Total height) = 11.53cm. Once you get the difference between both heights, the orignal's and yours in cm, you divide that into the ORIGINAL total height.

EX: 11.53cm / 190.5cm = 0.0605. Carry the decimal over and you get 6.05% INCREASE. (Apply this same logic, even if you're shorter, in which case it would an x% decrease.) OR, you could DIVIDE YOUR height by the ORIGINAL height and get the percentage increase (or decrease). EX: 202.03cm (new model height) / 190.5cm (original model height) = 1.0605 - Carry decimal over and get a 106.05% increase. I hope this helps! When deciding paint colors, I only look at the texture of the model itself in Pepakura, because Pepakura doesn't add atmospheric color changes like you get with screenshots and sometimes official artwork.

For the prongs, I would mix dark teal (as close to as you can get) poster acrylic with metallic silver poster acrylic. (DON'T use FolkArt-brand silver, that particular one just looks gray instead of reflective, and it's very transparent so it requires half a dozen coats.) Add the teal to the silver little by little, not the other way around. You should get a mildly reflective 'desaturated' looking shade of teal that I think would work great. For the top of the helmet, I would use just plain silver.

Better be the same silver you mixed with the teal, so they look like the same material although the prongs were obviously tinted after being forged-hypothetically. But, if the plain silver you have would seem too bright, try mixing an extremely tiny amount of (regular or metallic) acrylic into the silver to tone it down over all. Lastly, you could also darken parts of the helmet unevenly by making them look worn-down:. (One of my favorite tutorials on DA.) Hope that helps!
