Directx Fbx Converter Mac

Sep 14, 2018  FBX2glTF. This is a command line tool for converting 3D model assets on Autodesk's venerable FBX format to glTF 2.0, a modern runtime asset delivery format. Precompiled binaries releases for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux may be found here. Bleeding-edge binaries for Windows may be found here.Linux and Mac OS X to come; meanwhile, you can build your own. The material definition inside a DirectX file does not contain any information about the ambient shading coefficient. This import converter must assume a specific ambient shading coefficient. What this means is that your imported model may look too washed out if the assumed ambient shading coefficient is too high.

No one else has this problem? Not sure how a simple plane could end up counter clockwise without some explanation. Here's the oddest thing also when the plane is exported (with FBX 2012.1), I can view it fine in the FBX Viewer from the SDK. Does this viewer turn off culling to display the models? EDIT: Yes apparently the Viewer does disable culling:/. Changing the cull order every time I render FBX models seems a bit over kill with the constant state changes.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. OpenGL is right handed. DirectX is left handed. You have to convert right to left handed coordinate systems. You can choose between Left/Right handed for DirectX but.

That isn't the concern here. 3DS Max has 'Z' up by default and 'Y as depth, there is no way to resolve this with any configuration options (at least none that I found with a search for this for about 25 minutes this morning, something about a carry over from autocad? Shrug) My issue arises with exporting the model from 3ds max to fbx and then reading it in as-is with the proper indices to give a clockwise ordering. I did however resolve this issue as your comment sparked an idea about 3DS Max's coordinate system (Z up vs Y.

Converter

Y used for depth vs Z). With no 'additional code' needed all I had to do was rotate the model in 3ds max -90 degrees around the x-axis before exporting and all works well now. Thank you though:)!
